Storm it 210/31/2022 ![]() ![]() Many of the other cities in the region have experienced similar explosive growth.Ī report from the Boston-based catastrophe modeling firm Karen Clark and Co. Just as an example, the city of Tampa had about 51,000 residents in 1920. Hurricane Ian could threaten all of that development. Now, the tourist-friendly region known for its sugar-sand beaches has grown by leaps and bounds, with homes and businesses along the water the ideal locations - most of the time. ![]() At least eight people died and damage was estimated at $5 million at the time. The storm surge from that hurricane, estimated at Category 3 with winds of up to 129 mph ( 207 km/h) was pegged at 11 feet (3.3 meters). The hurricane had no official name but is known locally as the Tarpon Springs storm, for the seaside town famed for its sponge-diving docks and Greek heritage where it came ashore. The last time Tampa Bay was hit by a major storm was Oct. “Clearly, when you look at the Tampa Bay area, one of the reasons why we fear storms is because of the sensitivity of this area and the fragility of this area," DeSantis said. Ron DeSantis took note of the region's vulnerability in a Monday afternoon news conference in Largo, Florida. The evacuations could affect 300,000 people or more in Hillsborough County alone. Officials in the area began issuing evacuation orders Monday for a wide swath of Tampa, with the St. That's not going to drain out quickly,” said Cathie Perkins, emergency management director in Pinellas County, where St. The National Hurricane Center is predicting storm surge in Tampa Bay and surrounding waters of between 5 and 10 feet (1.5 and 3 meters) above normal tide conditions and rainfall of between 10 and 15 inches (12 and 25 centimeters) because of Hurricane Ian. “Tampa Bay is very surge-prone because of its orientation.” “Strong persistent winds will push a lot of water into the bay and there’s nowhere for it to go, so it just builds up,” said Brian McNoldy, a senior research associate at the University of Miami's Rosenstiel School of Marine, Atmospheric and Earth Science. The adjacent Gulf of Mexico is also shallow. The problem confronting the region is that storms approaching from the south, as Hurricane Ian is on track to do, bulldoze huge volumes of water up into shallow Tampa Bay and are likely to inundate homes and businesses. ![]() Many of these people live in low-lying neighbourhoods that are highly susceptible to storm surge and flooding they have rarely before experienced, which some experts say could be worsened by the effects of climate change. The Nun 2 is already slated to be released theatrically one year from now. It’s been more than a century since a major storm like Hurricane Ian has struck the Tampa Bay area, which blossomed from a few hundred thousand people in 1921 to more than 3 million today. Production on the film is set to begin in October. Ian Goldberg and Richard Naing are currently adapting the script from a screenplay penned by Malignant writer Akela Cooper. Michael Chaves, who most recently directed The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, is helming The Nun 2. Bonnie Aarons will return in the title role, and Farmiga is also in talks to reprise her role from the first film. Reid's role in the film is also not currently being disclosed. ![]() The plot for The Nun 2 is currently being kept under wraps, but rumor has it that the film will take place in 1950s France. #Storm it 2 movie#The Nun ended up grossing $365.6 million against a $22 million budget, making it the highest-grossing Conjuring Universe movie so far. The Nun 2 will follow 2018's breakout horror hit The Nun, which saw Valek, a demon who has appeared in many Conjuring Universe films, terrorize a priest and a novice played by Demian Bichir and Taissa Farmiga. Euphoria actress Storm Reid has just been tapped to star in The Conjuring-Universe sequel The Nun 2. ![]()

Mce remote mapper for windows 1010/31/2022 ![]() ![]() The main menu no longer stops whatever I'm doing and zaps me back to a flat menu screen. There's also a new popup Mini-Guide (not pictured) which lets you browse nearby channels without obscuring playback. The program guide- which is completely free, no monthly charges whatsoever- now overlays the live video as a transparency. I love the new "play all" shuffle mode, too. ![]() Displaying, searching, scrolling- it's all nearly instantaneous now. And the music library is dramatically faster. Like videos, much better use of horizontal screen real estate I can see dozens of albums at once. Under Vista's Media Center, my 60+ GB music library is now a pleasure to navigate. Recorded shows are now displayed as a linear timeline with a graphic still, rather than plain text in a list. The default UI makes better use of the horizontal, widescreen arrangements most home theater setups will have. It's faster, it's prettier, and it's thoroughly improved in every way. Vista's Media Center is a vast improvement over XP's Media Center. This weekend I took the plunge and upgraded my HTPC from Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 to Windows Vista Home Premium. As far as I'm concerned, Windows Media Center is one of the best- if not the best- applications Microsoft has ever created. ![]() Tropico 6 tips and tricks10/31/2022 ![]() ![]() State sanctioned pirate raids are a useful, if not necessary, means of supplementing the economy (even the educated population, via kidnappings), especially if you’ve started out small. Yes, fans have all seen that they can steal world wonders like the Eiffel Tower, which is absurd, but it highlights the new raiding system that comes into play at the outset. Tropico 6 does have some new bells and whistles that were appealing, but these more garnish the experience rather than drive it. This level of involvement, even more than in Tropico 5 (where I once fired disloyal soldiers one-by-one) alters my harder feelings about driving the economy hard, putting up luxuries, and accepting some level of poverty or homelessness as a symptomatic of both. Layers help identify the coverage and quality of resources and amenities to certain buildings, but often I found myself going down to an individual citizen level to find out where they were living (and why) in order to determine where a bunkhouse or an apartment building should go next. ![]() My power plant ended up surrounded by slum housing for probably the same reasons that happens in real life, too. Clustering things together is more efficient and less sightly, but over time it makes for a more authentic looking island. I actually missed the deadline for the very first shipping contract the Crown imposed on me, where in Tropico 5 that was largely a matter of constructing a plantation and making sure there was available space down at the city docks.Įven with unlimited money in a sandbox mode, the simplest vision my inner autocrat has for Tropico requires constant management. ![]() (Workers getting to the library has a similar effect in lengthening research time, under a new system there). Sticking the teamster office all the way down by the docks was a nice aesthetic choice, but that compounded in both workers showing up there and then ferrying the crop back to the ships. But in an initial run-through, it took me forever to get my first tobacco export contract filled, because I’d gotten too cute with where I placed the farms and where I placed the poor housing. In Tropico 5, productivity was mainly solved just by balancing the population number with the jobs available, because building output was constant whether workers were there or not. Straight away I noticed that a building’s productivity suffered, even in colonial times, if its workers were not in affordable homes nearby. Tropico 6 still feels like a more challenging game, more consistently thwarting my grand vision, because employment and housing - the quality-of-life conditions that affect everything on the island - need more management to keep everyone sheltered and on task. ![]() Twitter rapidclick rapid10/31/2022 ![]() ![]()

Serenity symbol chinese translation10/31/2022 ![]() ![]() This can (and often is) taken into a spiritual metaphor. In this example, the center circle represents our present location. ![]() The four circles represent: North, South, East, West. Further, this can be considered a directional symbol. These elements are essential for the stability and progression of all life…so the symbol is a pretty big deal and conveys the importance of harmony with all of Nature. The middle circle unites all the elements with a goal to reach balance between all four elements or energies. The four outer circles symbolize the four elements: Fire, Earth, Air, Water. I’ve devoted an entire page on the symbolic meaning of spiral here.Īs almost all other Celtic symbol meanings, this one also deals with balance. We might also view this symbol as human awareness and/or Nature itself always moving outward to gain more broad experiences. We could say, in this example, we (or the earth) is the center of the spiral and energy (the cosmos) is forever expanding outward into an infinite array of possibilities. The cosmic-savvy Celts understood that the universe is not only limitless, but ever expanding. In this respect the spiral takes an outward path. The spiral is also a symbol of the cosmos. In this light, each step we make winds us ever inward into ourselves, our core beliefs, and the roots of our community (the center of the spiral). More accurately, every life lived takes a spiral trajectory. Specifically, the spiral as a life symbol reminds us that our path is never from point ‘A’ to point ‘B’. As a spiraling labyrinth, this pictograph stands for the path we all take in life. This very same spiral symbol is often conveyed as a labyrinth in many ancient cultures, including Celtic. Also symbolizes growth, birth and expansion of consciousness. This symbol represents ethereal energy radiating out (or inward depending on your perspective). Some have iron breastplates of chainmail, while others fight naked.” ~Diodorus Siculus, 1st century BC Their trumpets again are of a particularly barbaric kind and produced a harsh sound that suits the tumult of war. In some cases, horns form one part with the helmet, while in other cases it is relief figures of the foreparts of birds or quadrupeds. On their heads, they wear bronze helmets that possess large projecting figures lending the appearance of enormous stature to the wearer. Some of them have projecting bronze animals of fine workmanship. “Their armor includes man-sized shields decorated in individual fashion. “The Celts were fearless warriors because “they wish to inculcate this as one of their leading tenets, that souls do not become extinct, but pass after death from one body to another.” ~Julius Caesar Here are a few direct observations from various sources about the Celts. Although there is not much in terms of written historical records directly from the ancient Celts, there are other sources that clue us into the colorful, fiery nature of the Celts. ![]() Typetool logo10/31/2022 ![]() I made all of the letters using the pen tool.Ĭool.
